Maybelline Color Tattoo: Tough as Taupe

Maybelline Color Tattoo: Tough as Taupe
Hi!

After falling in love with the MAC paint pots, I can't help to get my hands on the Maybelline color tattoo which everyone says just as good as the MAC ones.

They're pretty much the same thing (for me), they are a cream eyeshadow that can also work as a base. So you can use them as it is or apply powder eyeshadow on top of it. I'm sure you all know how it works.

I wanted to get 2 colors: Tough as Taupe and Pomegranate Punk, but apparently the Pomegranate one is not available here, so I only got the taupe one.

Here's how it looks like:

It's basically a greyish brown, as the name suggested. I prefer to use it on its own because it is such a beautiful and natural color.

But honestly, if you compare it to MAC paint pots, I have to say that this one is not as good. It creases a lot throughout the day, and the color payoff is not as opaque as the MAC paint pots. I tried other colors at the counter, I was thinking to buy a few colors, but when I swatched it on my hand I didn't think the color payoff is good enough so I didn't buy them. But if they have the pomegranate one I would still buy it!

All in all, I would recommend this if you're looking for a cream eyeshadow to play with, as it has fun colors.

MAC Paint Pot: Painterly & Constructivist

MAC Paint Pot: Painterly & Constructivist
I've been wanting to try the MAC Paint Pots for a long time. I need a primer to make the eyeshadows stay longer as I have oily lids. And I've seen many reviews about this product and all of them said they're great!
I got 2 colors: Painterly and Constructivist

It came in glass jar which I think is pretty big. Contains 5g of product and a small amount goes a long way so you don't really need to use much, a jar would last a long time. I'd say it is worth the price.

It can be used as a base or eyeshadow primer, or simply as a cream eyeshadow. It's not too creamy but it's easy to blend (no idea how that's possible but this is seriously very easy to blend!) and the best part is it dries like a powder and the staying power is amazing!

So the first one is Painterly:

It is a matte nude beige color, perfect as a base or primer, because it will make the color pop a lot more. I cannot tell you how many times I've seen people use this on Youtube. Everyone swears by it, some people with super oily lids cannot make eyeshadows stay long, unless they use this as a base.
And I totally agree! I've been trying so many primers and so far this is the best one I've tried. My eyeshadow stays much much longer and it didn't crease. Yaaayyy!!

And the second one is Constructivist:

It's a metallic dark brown that lets you create a smokey eyes effortlessly. I don't usually put shimmer on the lids, but this is not too shimmery, it gives a nice glow to the eyes.
I use this on its own almost everyday. It's super quick and easy! But you can also use this as a base to make a color look deeper which is so cool!

However, I'd say this paint pots works better if you put eyeshadow on top of it. It can literally last all day.
I use this with Clinique eyeshadow to work and when I got home it still stays there, it didn't budge.

Here's a comparison on both colors:

I absolutely love this product and would recommend this for those with oily lids! Wish they come in much more fun colors!
